Hi everyone. I’m 5’9 230 pounds and I’ve been looking at a bunch of programs but i don’t know exactly which one to go for. My goal is ultimately to lose weight and gain muscle and was wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction. I’ve been going to the gym but don’t have an exact plan when I go and sometimes I’m all over the place. I go 4 times a week now if that helps. Thanks for the help!

What are your lifts? This will help understand your current strength/skill level.
It would be nice to know more about your current lifts but for someone new, I’m a HUGE fan the Starting Strength program. There’s a huge following in YouTube and you can get a lot of information on form. I would also recommend the Starting Strength 3rd Edition book available on Amazon. If you’re over 40, I would also recommend the book “The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After 40” by Dr Jonathon M Sullivan.
